Nutritional support · Midlothian, VA

Vitamin injections, iron infusions, and IV vitamin C.

Quick, in-office support for when your labs or your symptoms say you’re running low. Your provider orders each injection or infusion after a visit, so what you get matches what your body actually needs.

Why injections and infusions

Sometimes the missing piece is a nutrient, not a prescription.

Low B12, low vitamin D, and low iron are common reasons people feel tired, foggy, and slow to recover. Capsules help some people. Others can’t absorb enough from the gut, or need to catch up faster than pills allow.

An injection or infusion skips the gut, so the dose actually lands. We check the level first, give what the level calls for, and recheck when the course is done.

People use this for

  • Fatigue with a low B12, vitamin D, or iron level on labs
  • Iron deficiency when oral iron fails or upsets the stomach
  • Immune support through a run-down stretch
  • Recovery after surgery, or a wound that is slow to close
  • Support alongside weight-loss or hormone care
Vitamin injections

Quick shots, ordered by your provider.

Each one takes a few minutes in the office. Your provider sets the schedule; most courses run weekly for several weeks, then taper.

Energy

Vitamin B12

1,000 mcg. Helps your body turn food into energy and supports red blood cells and nerve function. Typical course: weekly for 8 weeks, then once every 4 weeks.

Metabolism

Lipo-Mino

Lipotropic nutrients with L-carnitine that take part in how the liver processes fat and how cells use fat for energy. Typical course: weekly for 8 weeks, then once every 4 weeks.

Antioxidant

Glutathione

An antioxidant your body makes on its own. Given for detoxification, antioxidant, and immune support, usually 2 to 3 times a week for a 12-week course.

Immune

Tri-Immune Boost

Vitamin C, zinc, and glutathione in one injection for immune support, 1 to 3 times a week for 6 weeks. It isn’t a substitute for vaccination or treatment of an infection.

Recovery

Amino Blend

Amino acids for muscle repair and athletic performance, 1 to 3 times a week for 6 weeks.

Cellular energy

NAD+

Under-the-skin injections for cellular energy and cognitive clarity, stepped up over six weeks.

Injections are ordered after a visit with your provider, when they fit what’s going on.

Vitamin D

Your level sets the course.

Each injection is 50,000 IU of vitamin D3, once a week. How many you need depends on where your blood level sits today. We recheck the level after the last injection, not in the middle.

Level 40 to 59

Optimization

2 weekly injections. Repeatable 8 to 12 weeks after the last course.

Level 30 to 39

Restoration

4 weekly injections. Recheck at week 5 or later.

Level 20 to 29

Repletion

6 weekly injections. Recheck at week 7 or later.

Level under 20

Severe deficiency

8 weekly injections. Recheck at week 9 or later.

Level under 20, BMI over 40

Intensive repletion

12 weekly injections. Recheck at week 13 or later.

Level 60 and up

No injection needed

Your stores are full. We don’t inject above this level.

Levels are 25-hydroxy vitamin D in ng/mL, from a blood draw. Your vitamin D level is part of the new patient lab panel.

Iron infusions

For iron deficiency that pills can’t fix.

IV iron (iron sucrose, the same product hospitals use) is for people whose iron is low and who either can’t absorb oral iron well or need to rebuild faster. Each infusion is 200 mg, run over 15 to 30 minutes, followed by 30 minutes of monitoring before you leave. Plan on about an hour.

Most people are scheduled for 2 to 5 infusions, one a week. Your provider sets the number from your labs. Many notice more energy after the first or second infusion, and the full benefit builds as you finish the course.

  • No fasting. A light meal before you come in is best.
  • Have a ride home for your first infusion.
  • Follow-up labs 6 weeks after the final infusion, to confirm your stores rebuilt.
  • IV vitamin C is never given on the same day as iron.

Before your first infusion

  • An iron panel and a visit, so your provider can confirm IV iron is the right fix and set the number of doses
  • A signed consent and a written estimate, so there are no surprises
  • About an hour blocked off for each infusion

Self-pay, with a superbill available if you want to submit it to your insurance.

High-dose IV vitamin C

Far more vitamin C than capsules can deliver.

An infusion gets vitamin C into your blood at levels the gut can never absorb from pills, as a slow drip during a relaxed in-office visit. It’s supportive care, not a treatment for cancer or infections, and we’ll be straight with you about what the evidence does and doesn’t show.

Who it tends to work best for:

  • People going through cancer treatment who want help with fatigue, nausea, and appetite, coordinated with their oncologist. This is where the evidence is strongest.
  • Shingles in the first few days, alongside the antiviral, and flu-like or post-viral illness such as mono.
  • A run-down stretch: fatigue, slow recovery, or immune support you choose for yourself, usually a weekly course for 4 to 6 weeks.
  • Healing after surgery, or a wound that is slow to close.

Adults 18 and up. Before the first infusion everyone has a short set of baseline labs, a provider review, and a consent, and every first dose is 15 g. A few conditions, such as certain kidney problems, rule it out.

How a course runs

  • Baseline labs, a provider review, and a consent before the first drip
  • Every first dose is 15 g; your provider sets the dose and schedule from there
  • Oral vitamin C and plenty of fluids on the days between infusions
  • A check-in with your provider as the course ends, to decide whether to continue

Not billed to insurance and separate from Direct Primary Care. Ask about it at your visit, or call or text (804) 601-8625.

Fullscript dispensary

Practitioner-grade supplements, shipped to your door.

When a supplement belongs in your plan, your provider builds your list in Fullscript, an online dispensary of practitioner-grade brands. You order what’s on the list and it ships to you, so there’s no guessing in the vitamin aisle.

How to get your link

Ask at your next visit, or call or text (804) 601-8625. Your provider sends a personal Fullscript link with your recommendations already loaded.

How it starts

Three steps, no guesswork.

  1. A visit

New to Venture Wellness? Start with a Performance & Longevity Evaluation. Already a patient? Bring it up at your next visit, or call or text us.

  2. Labs where they matter

A vitamin D level before a vitamin D course, an iron panel before iron, and baseline labs before IV vitamin C. Recent results from elsewhere count.

  3. Your provider orders, you book the chair

Injections take minutes. Infusions take about an hour, with monitoring built in.

Paying for it. Everything on this page is self-pay: card, HSA, or FSA. Nothing here is billed to insurance, and it’s separate from Direct Primary Care. Your provider gives you a written estimate before any course starts.

Questions

Injections and infusions FAQ

Do I have to be a Direct Primary Care member?

No. Any Venture Wellness patient can get injections and infusions after a visit with a provider. Nothing here requires a plan.

Can I just walk in for a B12 shot?

Injections are ordered after a visit with your provider, when they fit what’s going on. Once you have an order, the shots themselves are quick in-office visits.

How many iron infusions will I need?

Your provider decides from your labs. Most people are scheduled for 2 to 5, one a week. Finishing the course is what rebuilds your iron stores, so we’ll help you keep the dates.

Can I get iron and IV vitamin C together?

Not on the same day. Vitamin C changes how your body handles iron, so the two are always scheduled apart.

Does insurance cover any of this?

These services are self-pay at Venture Wellness, payable by card, HSA, or FSA. For iron infusions we can give you a superbill to submit for possible out-of-network reimbursement.

How do I start IV vitamin C?

Bring it up at a visit, or call or text (804) 601-8625. Your provider reviews your history and baseline labs, you sign a consent, and the first 15 g infusion is scheduled from there.

I’ve had a wonderful experience with Dr. Julia Montgomery. From the beginning, she took the time to listen to my concerns and develop a personalized plan focused on helping me feel like myself again. I appreciate how comfortable and supported they make me feel during every appointment. They are responsive to my feedback, genuinely care about how I’m feeling, and are willing to adjust my treatment plan based on my symptoms and progress. Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, they work collaboratively with me to find what works best for my body. I’m grateful for their knowledge, compassion, and commitment to helping me improve my overall well-being. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a provider who truly listens and partners with you on your health journey.

I am so thankful that I waa able to recently become a patient at Venture Wellness! Dr. Julia and her assistant Maria are so patient, helpful, informative and easy to talk to. I am 50 years old and have not been feeling like myself for quite some time. I knew hormone changes were taking place but I wasn't sure where to turn. Dr. Julia has helped me get back to feeling like myself again, and in some ways, even better. My brain fog is virtually gone, focus is back, energy has returned and I just overall feel so much better! Maria has been a super help as well making sure my labs are done when they are needed and she has helped me several times when I have required additional assistance with questions and support. I am also working with Venture on a small weight loss journey to get back to where I hope to be and with their help I am seeing steady results. In addition to all of the improvement I have seen with my health I also should acknowledge the depth of information about my health that I have learned from Dr. Julia that had never been reviewed with me in the past with my primary. I cannot recommend this practice enough if you are feeling off and want some help so you can feel like yourself again!

Working on hormone issues with Julia. She is kind, compassionate and very thorough. I tell my friends about her services, as hormone replacement therapy is still widely misunderstood and/or treated. Highly recommend her and her team!

I have been so impressed with the entire team at Venture Wellness. I feel heard, I feel seen and after only a few months I am feeling like my best self again. I am so grateful to Julia for the time and energy she spends with me to truly ensure my personal goals are achieved. Maria is also a pure delight to interact with during labs. The energy is great in general and I feel amazing again at 52! Thank you to the entire VW family.
